Who comes first?
Who comes first?
'Seek the Kingdom of God above all else...' Matt 6:33 NLT
Some people seem to have just one ambition in life: to get their own way all the time. And if anyone or anything gets in the way there's trouble. If there's any of that desire in you today, then here's a hard fact for you: get ready to self-destruct. It probably won't happen today or even tomorrow, but some time down the track, meltdown day will arrive. You see, it's impossible to gain true satisfaction in life outside of trusting, long-term relationships. And trusting long-term relationships are never one-sided: there are two people in every friendship, every partnership and every marriage. How can these relationships survive if one side always takes and never gives? How can they last if one side always expects to be satisfied but doesn't offer anything back? There's one sure-fire way to make certain that you don't fall into this trap: give your life to a cause bigger than yourself. Jesus especially loved talking about one subject—the Kingdom of Heaven, also called the Kingdom of God. It's not a kingdom like Britain with Queen Elizabeth or Jordan with King Abdullah. This isn't about geography; the Kingdom is breaking out all over the world! The Kingdom is anywhere that people lay down their own plans and give themselves to God's perfect plans. The Kingdom is life as God always meant it to be. How about putting the Kingdom first today?
